Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill called the Library Science Fair pure joy in innovation.

"Libraries have always stood at the forefront of imagination, curiosity and education, all of which the Blue Mountains Library team are bringing together with this event," Cr Greenhill said.

"You'll have the chance to explore and play with our collection of Spark! Science Kits and explore the different experiments and challenges, test your problem solving, reasoning and creative thinking with logic games, and browse the fabulous collection of books on science for adults and children."

There will also be weird and wonderful scientific craft activities to try and take home, from 3D drawing, optical illusions and scientific creations.

Council's Healthy Waterways Team will be there with nature-based activities including a real water bugs display and water chemistry testing.

"We're living in the future so many of us read about in our childhood library books. Science, technology and innovation are at the centre of our progress and our future.

"This event brings all of those elements together and offers an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of science and nature, with the sensational Library and Healthy Waterways teams," Cr Greenhill said.
