Council is encouraging community members to get behind Dementia Action Week by supporting this year's campaign, 'A little support makes a big difference.'
Dementia Action Week runs from 20-26 September and raises awareness of dementia and how the many people living with dementia, can continue to live well for many years after their diagnosis.
The week also helps clear up the misconceptions about dementia.
This year's campaign, 'A little support makes a big difference,' will also focus on supporting and celebrating the many carers of people who live with dementia.
As part of the campaign, Dementia Australia have provided information and tips to encourage everyone to increase their own understanding of dementia and how they can make a positive difference to the lives of impacted people around them.
Supporting this year's campaign is as simple as raising awareness about dementia among your friends, family and colleagues, or sending a message of support to a carer who is assisting someone living with dementia.
Caladenia Dementia Care has created a number of online Q&A sessions as part of Dementia Action Week, giving community members the opportunity to have dementia-related questions answered by experts.
