High-speed wi-fi connectivity system to help facilitate communication and coordination during natural disasters over large geographical areas in remote locations.

NSW Telco Authority co-hosted a demonstration of the Rapidly Deployable Large-Area Wi-Fi (LAWiFi) System with the Connectivity Innovation Network.

Held at Wattamolla Beach in the Royal National Park, the final demonstration showcased the last six months of advancements to the wi-fi system, which will support emergency services and provide broadband for regional communities and our customers.

The system can play a role in facilitating communications, coordination and access to critical resources in remote areas affected by natural disasters, or when critical telecommunications infrastructure is damaged.

This final event follows a successful six-month demonstration in 2023.
