Detectives from the Sunshine Coast investigating an incident in which a man was allegedly assaulted, robbed and forced into the boot of a car at Kunda Park on Friday have charged a man with several offences including deprivation of liberty, Queensland Police say.
It will be alleged that the man met up with a group of men on Thursday evening at an address in Avian Street.
Around 1.50am on Friday the men then allegedly assaulted the man after an argument, bound him and forced him into the rear boot of a car.
The victim, a 24-year-old Burnside man, was thrown out of the vehicle along Mossy Bank Road, Eudlo by the group before stealing his car.
He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives have charged a 26-year-old Bellmere man with one count each of robbery with violence and deprivation of liberty.
He appeared in the Caboolture Magistrates Court at the weekend where his bail was refused.
Detectives have released photos of the man’s vehicle, a 2008 white Holden Commodore Club Sport with Queensland registration 913 LJG, last seen travelling along Mossy Bank Road, Eudlo around 1.50am Friday morning.
Police investigations are continuing.
