Deputy PM Set for Solomon Islands Visit

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, will travel to Honiara, Solomon Islands this week.

In Honiara, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with newly elected Prime Minister, Jeremiah Manele, Deputy Prime Minister Bradley Tovosia, Minister for Finance Manasseh Sogavare and Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services Jimson Tanangada.

Australia deeply values our strong and enduring partnership with Solomon Islands.

The visit will provide an opportunity to discuss recent support provided to the election and our broader economic, development and security partnership.

Australia is committed to working with Solomon Islands as its security partner of choice.
