Deputy Secretary Sherman's Call with French Foreign Ministry Secretary General Delattre

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman spoke with French Foreign Ministry Secretary General François Delattre today about Russia's unprovoked and unprecedented military build-up on Ukraine's borders and joint efforts by NATO Allies, EU partners, G7 members, and other partners to urge Russia to de-escalate and engage in a substantive, reciprocal dialogue on mutual security concerns. The Deputy Secretary and Secretary General Delattre agreed on the importance of continuing to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Deputy Secretary Sherman and Secretary General Delattre discussed counter-terrorism priorities to promote security, stability, and development in the Sahel region of Africa, and in particular concerns about the developing situation in Burkina Faso.
