Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have released CCTV as they appeal for information following an armed home invasion in Casula earlier this month.
About 4am on Tuesday 8 October 2024, police were called to a home on Jockey Close, Casula, following reports of a home invasion.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told five men drove to the home in a grey Nissan utility, which had been reported stolen, and forced entry to the home while armed with pistols and a shotgun.
Residents in the home at the time were threatened at gun point and two people were restrained with cable ties.
The five men then fled the scene, taking cash and jewellery.
A short time later, two men approached a motorcyclist nearby and threatened him with a firearm, before fleeing the scene on the motorcycle.
Police then located the utility travelling through Casula. The driver failed to stop when directed and a pursuit was initiated; however, it was terminated shortly after due to safety concerns.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the home and two of the residents were treated for minor injuries.
A crime scene was established, and detectives attached to State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad commenced Strike Force Albal to investigate the incident.
Following further inquiries, strike force detectives located the Nissan utility in Austral. The vehicle and jewellery located in the vehicle were seized for forensic examination.
As investigations continue, investigators have released CCTV footage and are hoping to speak with a group of men seen in Casula around the time of the home invasion.
The men are described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance and were seen wearing hoodies at the time of the incident.
