Criminal Groups Squad detectives are appealing for information after a man was fatally shot in Sydney's west last month.
About 4pm on Monday 22 May 2023, emergency services were called to Hertfordshire Street in Elizabeth Hills, following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command located a 24-year-old man suffering several gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.
He has since been identified as Marvin Oraiha.
A short time later, emergency services were called to Cave Close in Green Valley and Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights following reports of two car fires.
Crime scenes were established and forensically examined at all three locations, which are believed to be linked.
Liverpool detectives – with assistance from the Homicide Squad – commenced inquiries, before State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Hackenburg.
As part of ongoing inquiries, strike force detectives have released CCTV of two men who may be able to assist their investigation.
The men are described as being of thin build, wearing all dark clothing and balaclavas.
Detectives have also released CCTV of three vehicles they believe were used as getaway cars after the incident and are appealing for further information about their movements - particularly in the days prior.
Police believe a white Audi A1 was initially used to confront Mr Oraiha on Hetfordshire Street, before it was driven to Cave Close in Green Valley by two unknown males and set alight.
It's understood the two males then ran through a nearby park to Cordelia Crescent, where they were seen getting into a parked black Toyota Prado.
The Toyota Prado travelled to Lewis Street in Bonnyrigg Heights, where it was also set alight.
The final car is described as being a dark blue Honda Accord, which was last seen leaving Lewis Street towards Wilson Road in Bonnyrigg Heights and remains outstanding.
As the investigation continues, police are appealing for anyone who may have information or dashcam vision of any of the cars used, particularly in the days and weeks leading up to the incident.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
