Detectives release CCTV regarding Jamieson hit-run

Investigators from the Major Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate a fatal hit run collision that occurred at approximately midnight on the 25th of November 2017, Victoria Police say.

Local man, Bryce Airs, was walking home from the local hotel and was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road, Jamieson.

Passers-by located Bryce on the road with significant injuries and despite the efforts of emergency services Bryce passed away at the scene.

Injuries sustained by Bryce suggest the vehicle involved is a high clearance vehicle, most likely with a bull bar fitted to the front.

CCTV has been released of a vehicle travelling on the Mansfield-Woods Point Road between Jamieson and Kevington, towards the collision scene around the time of the collision.

Images suggest this vehicle is fitted with a bull bar, snorkel style air intake on the driver’s side and spotlights.

Investigators would like to identify and speak to the driver of the vehicle as he/she may have critical information to the investigation

The area where the collision took place usually has very little traffic and any vehicles fitting the description travelling in the area at the time will be of interest to investigators.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
