Highly toxic chemicals should never be put in your kerbside bins or poured down the drain. Safely dispose of any unwanted chemicals like weed killer, cleaning products, old cooking oil and cosmetics for free of charge at the next Detox Your Home event. These events are staffed by trained specialist chemists and are lisenced to accept toxic chemicals.
Around 40 pop-up events are hosted around Victoria each year by Sustainability Victoria and local councils. The events are open to all households, so you can attend any event across Victoria.

A wide range of hazardous household chemicals and materials are accepted including pesticides, bleach, and cleaning products to name a few. The full list of items accepted can be found on the Sustainability Victoria website.
With community safety in mind, Detox your Home events are drive-through (no walk-ins) and contactless.
