A man has been charged – and goods including a diamond ring recovered – after police following up an outstanding arrest warrant searched a property 8km south of Kempsey, NSW Police say.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District went to the property on Burnt Bridge Road, Burnt Bridge, and arrested a 29-year-old man, shortly before 9am today (Tuesday 5 June 2018).
During a search, police located high-end electronic equipment as well as a $15,000 motorbike, which had been reported stolen from a property in Schofields last year.
They also recovered a diamond ring valued at more $6000 which had been reported stolen from a Neutral Bay home during a break, enter and steal at the weekend.
The man was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with break and enter at a veterinary business in Billinudgel on 18 April 2018. He was also charged with having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, and two counts of receiving stolen goods.
The man, from Lismore Heights, appeared in Kempsey Local Court where he was granted conditional bail to re-appear in the same court on Monday 18 June 2018.
Inquiries are continuing.
