Join us as we unearth the history of our region during the Queanbeyan-Palerang Heritage Festival.
'The festival runs each year in April and May and it's a great opportunity to get out and learn the story behind all kinds of well-known places' says Mayor Kenrick Winchester.
'This year there are walking tours in Braidwood, Bungendore, and Queanbeyan where you can learn more about the buildings you drive by every day.'
'There are also talks and workshops on research practices, First Nations' writing, the value of sculpture, historic films, open days at local museums, art exhibitions, the Heritage Awards, and activities for the kids.'
'The festival is the perfect opportunity to learn more about your family history or learn about important events that shaped our region.'
'The Frank Pangallo Heritage Library will be hosting a series of events and is home to our Heritage collection.'
'The local history collection shines a light on the people and places that made our region what it is today.'
You can visit the Frank Pangallo Heritage Library from Monday to Thursday 10am - 4pm and during special events throughout the festival.
