The many treasures of Mitchell Shire will take centre stage in a new tourism marketing campaign launched this week.
The Discover Mitchell initiative by Mitchell Shire Council welcomes visitors to the region with the easing of COVID restrictions.
The campaign invites visitors to discover something new, just an hour away from Melbourne. It builds on the Victorian Government promotion to encourage people to stay and travel within regional Victoria.
The six-month campaign focuses on the refreshing country living feeling of Mitchell Shire and highlights the beauty, adventure and attractions of the region and the towns.
Launched on social media last week with a video highlighting the region, the campaign will be supported by the Discover Mitchell social media channels as well as a range of marketing promotions into 2021.
Visitors are shown some of the best ways to explore the Shire by highlighting the key things to do in the region - like fishing in the Goulburn River at Seymour, bike riding along the Great Victorian Rail Trail at Tallarook, viewing the heritage buildings along Sydney Street in Kilmore, exploring Mt Piper in Broadford and playing at the Community Bank Adventure Playground in Wallan.
The campaign features glimpses into each area with curated day trips and longer stays featured through videos, photos, advertisements and a new tourism web page.
