A Taste of Italy: Griffith is a three day celebration of the city's vibrant Italian culture and heritage, offering a host of Italian themed events and experiences.
On Friday evening, the Ferragosto Festival Dinner Dance will kick off the celebrations and is set to keep all guests entertained. Head to Banna Avenue on Saturday morning, where the street will become a hive of activity with the sidewalk sale - you can shop 'til you drop and then enjoy a macchiato and cannoli.
From midday, make your way to the Griffith Italian Festival for an afternoon filled with Italian food, music, dancing, wine and lots of fun. Melbourne band, Siesta Cartel, will be back by popular demand to get you on your feet! Tickets sold out in 2019 for its first year – get in quick to avoid disappointment. Although the famous Griffith Salami Festival will not be held this year, the salami judging will still take place at the Yoogali Club and will be open to the public to view on Saturday afternoon.
True to its name you will be able to enjoy a 'taste of Italy' across Griffith throughout the entire weekend, with La Piccola Grosseria opening their doors on Sunday for those who want to make their way through some authentic Italian products.
You can't go past some local vino, with most cellar doors offering Italian wine varietals for tasting, or for something truly special you can join the long Sunday lunch at Calabria Family Wines or De Bortoli Wines which will truly make you feel like you're in Italy. Griffith Tourism Manager, Mirella Guidolin said A Taste of Italy Griffith will feature many local Italian traditions, showcasing our authentic Italian culture and providing visitors and locals alike with a complete and memorable weekend in Griffith.
"A host of Italian themed events and experiences have been planned for the whole family to enjoy so pick up a program from the Griffith Visitor Information Centre," said Ms Guidolin.
