Discover Your Family History In August

Get some top tips about your family history during August. As part of National Family History Month, Hawkesbury Library Service will be hosting several events promoting family history and providing a great opportunity to discover how to research your past.

On Thursday 8 August 10am. Join us for 'Everything you need to know about Trove' and discover all of the wonderful resources available for free on Trove. On Tuesday 13 August 6-7pm, join us for an online session on how to use the UK 1921 Census. Discover this latest Census from the Find My Past team and how it can assist your family research. The Hawkesbury Family History Group has engaged on Wednesday 14 August, 10-11.15am, Rachel Cullen, Manager of Access and Public Engagement at the National Archives of Australia (NAA) to speak at the meeting. Rachel will discuss the NAA digitisation projects and how they are making archival records more accessible. The talk will highlight with examples from some of their unique collections. This event is free and just turn up. If you want to delve into your family history, come in to either of our libraries (Windsor or Richmond) and access the databases for Ancestry or Find My Past for free, using our PCs or your own device.
