Colac Highway Patrol officers were shocked after intercepting an unregistered vehicle in Colac on New Year's Day.
Officers intercepted the Ford sedan on Wallace Street about 5pm, after a routine check suggested that the vehicle did not have current registration.
The driver was unable to produce a driver's licence, with enquiries revealing he was disqualified from holding a licence.
It went from bad to worse after the driver was found to have an alleged breath-alcohol concentration of .155.
The driver, a 33-year-old Birregurra man, will be summonsed to appear before a Magistrate for offences relating to drink-driving, driving whilst disqualified and using an unregistered motor vehicle.
The man's car was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $1170.
