Following an announcement from the Victorian Government, a program to distribute free COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) via Warrnambool City Council facilities will end.
Tests will be available at the Civic Centre and the Archie Graham Centre while supplies last, or until remaining tests expire on February 15.
Warrnambool Mayor Ben Blain said that the distribution program has been a successful partnership.
"Councils are the level of government with the closest connections to their communities, so we were happy to play our part in the distribution of the free COVID tests on behalf of the Victorian Government," he said.
"Since the program began in January 2023, we have given out over 30,000 COVID tests to members of the community."
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and ensure they have a supply of RATs available at home to use in the event they develop COVID-19 symptoms, and to always check the expiry date before using a RAT.
RATs are available for purchase at pharmacies and many supermarkets.
