Distribution of plant: tradition continues

From: The National Battlefields Commission

Each year, the National Battlefield Commission's Green Environment Team cultivates a few thousand very special plants. After growing in the warmth of the Park's greenhouses, the plants are offered free of charge to visitors during The Great Celebration of Nature on the Plains of Abraham. The Team takes great pleasure in seeing the smiles of those who leave with a flowering or fruit-bearing plant to green their environment!

This year, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, this activity greatly appreciated by young families, and even seniors, was cancelled. However, we wanted to continue the tradition and offer the seedings normally foreseen for the occasion. Last week, we offered cherry tomato, sunflower and ground cherry seedings to caregivers working in some of the facilities most hard hit by the pandemic. It was our way of saying thank you for their exceptional work and dedication.
