Disturbance At Toowoomba

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy following a disturbance in Toowoomba yesterday afternoon, April 3.

Around 12:30pm it is alleged a teenager was observed with a bladed weapon at a shopping centre on Margaret Street.

A short time later he allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with another male juvenile before he ran from the centre on foot.

Police immediately attended and conducted a search of the area, locating and seizing a hammer and a machete, allegedly belonging to the teenager.

Following further investigations, a teenage boy presented himself to a Toowoomba police station overnight.

Police have charged a 16-year-old East Toowoomba boy with one count of going armed so as to cause fear.

He is due to appear in the Toowoomba Childrens Court on April 10.

Police believe the two teenage boys are known to each other and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to contact police.
