It's almost time to make a splash in one of Mitchell Shire's outdoor pools, with the summer pool season set to kick off on Saturday 5 December.
The Broadford Outdoor Pool, Seymour War Memorial Outdoor Pool and the Tallarook Outdoor Pool will open on Saturday following the early opening of the Community Bank® Adventure Playground Splash Park at Hadfield Park in Wallan on Friday 27 November.
All facilities will open with social distancing and COVIDSafe measures in place, including a cap on the number of people who can use the facilities.
Council is once again making outdoor pools more accessible for everybody, with free entry all summer long.
Whether you're looking for a place to cool off, an Olympic-sized lap pool to keep fit, a water slide for some summer fun, or you're just looking to dip your toe in the waters of our splash park - Mitchell Leisure Services has you covered.
The outdoor pools will open every day when the air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology reaches 26 degrees or greater. Operating hours may vary due to changing temperatures and/or patronage levels.
The splash park is also open subject to appropriate weather conditions and patron numbers.
The team of lifeguards are ready to keep everyone safe this summer, although all children under the age of 10 must be actively supervised by a responsible adult as part of Council's Watch Around Water policy. Children under 5 must be within arm's reach of a supervising adult at all times. Any unsupervised children will be removed from the water for their own safety.
While entry is free for casual use of Council's pools, please note that user group hire fees, special event entry fees and entry fees to the indoor aquatic facilities will still apply.
