DoD Issues Guidance on OPM Last Week Email

The Department of Defense released the memorandum Guidance for Department of Defense Civilian Employees on Responding to the Office of Personnel Management's "What You Did Last Week" email mandating all DoD civilian employees to submit weekly accomplishments.

Starting March 3, 2025, Department of the Air Force civilians will receive an email from the DoD (@mail.mil domain) requiring a reply within 48 hours detailing the previous week's achievements in five bullet points. Personnel must respond to the message, ensuring no classified information is contained within, and include supervisors on these emails. The bullets should focus on achievements that support DoD priorities.

Employee submissions may be reviewed by DoD personnel and are subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. Failure to respond may result in disciplinary action.

Employees lacking email access must respond within 48 hours of regaining it. Supervisors of employees without regular access to their DAF email should facilitate access to accomplish this requirement.

DAF civilians may contact their chain of command with any questions on this guidance.
