Donation tin stolen at Melbourne

Police are appealing for public assistance after a donation tin was stolen from a police station in Melbourne earlier this month.

Investigators believe a man entered a police station foyer on Bourke Street about 9.50pm on 9 March.

Once inside the man has removed a donation tin from behind a Perspex barrier and has placed it in his bag before leaving the property.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian, 40-years-old and with a medium build.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, jeans and dark coloured runners.

The man also had a bandage wrapped around his head.

Investigators have released an image and CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
