A queue of students forms next to the library stage at DTU Lyngby Campus. Excited, they stand politely and wait for their turn. Many have arrived early - some even with gifts - hoping to talk to the main character of the day, ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen, who is taking part in an event hosted by Provost Rasmus Larsen.
The first Dane in space is at DTU to return a small model wind turbine and a copy of H. C. Ørsted's book 'The Spirit in Nature'. They have been with him in Earth orbit on the six-month long Huginn mission. But Andreas Mogensen is also at DTU to take part in a panel debate on the engineers of the future. He will share his experiences from a spectacular engineering career and give advice to the students. From the stage, he makes one message particularly clear:
"Don't be afraid to seize the opportunities that arise. We often have an idea that we should stay in a specific field. The problem is that life often plays us some unexpected balls. It's very difficult to predict which path will lead you to your goal."
