Doreen robbery

Mill Park Serious Crime Taskforce detectives are investigating an assault and robbery which occurred in Doreen on 1 January.

Investigators have been told a 23-year-old Doreen man had been watching fireworks in the vicinity of Courthouse Walk between 12-12.30am.

Three men approached the victim and asked him for a cigarette.

The victim declined and the men started to push and shove the victim.

The situation escalated and the victim was punched a number of times by the group before being forced to hand over a pouch of tobacco.

Police have been told the offenders left the scene and were last seen on Malmsbury Lane.

One of the offenders is perceived to be Caucasian with a tanned complexion, about 20-years-old with dark brown spikey hair and brown eyes.

At the time of the incident he was shirtless but wearing boardshorts and thongs.

Investigators have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
