Double Fatal Crash on Mid North Coast: Police Respond

A man and a child have died in a crash on the Mid North Coast overnight.

About 3am today (Saturday 19 October 2024) emergency services were called to The Bucketts Way, Tugrabakh, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District attended and found an SUV had left the road and gone down an embankment.

The male driver of the vehicle, believed to be aged in his 40s, and a young girl, age unknown, died at the scene.

They are yet to be formally identified.

Two young boys, ages unknown, were trapped in the vehicle for some time, before being extricated with assistance from NSW Fire and Rescue crews.

They were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
