Two men have died after a two vehicle crash near Dubbo overnight.
Shortly before 10pm on Saturday 6 April 2019, officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the Mitchell Highway, at Wongarbon, about 20km south-east of Dubbo, following reports of a crash involving two vehicles.
Police believe a Toyota Hilux utility being driven by a 35-year-old man, and with a 29-year-old passenger, lost control and rolled a number of times, before coming to rest.
A second vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser utility driven by a 19-year-old man, hit the stationary vehicle.
Both men inside the first car died at the scene while the driver of the second vehicle was uninjured.
The 19-year-old man was conveyed to hospital for mandatory drug and urine tests.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Mitchell Highway remains closed in both directions between Dubbo and Geurie.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
