A P-plate driver has had his car impounded after he was allegedly clocked doing 167km/hr in Bangholme this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
State Highway Patrol members were conducting speed checks on Thompson Road, between Worsley and Rossiter Roads, when they detected a Mazda 3 travelling at more than double the 80km/hr limit at 3.20pm.
The 21-year-old Patterson Lakes man was pulled over and his car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $997.
He is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit.
