Dr. Carolyn Smith was announced as senior vice president and dean of research at Baylor College of Medicine following approval by the Board of Trustees earlier this week. She has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since May 1.
"Dr. Smith is an excellent scientist and has been an outstanding interim leader of the research mission," said Dr. Paul Klotman, president, CEO and executive dean at Baylor. "She has been a great mentor to faculty and trainees and will continue to advance the prominence of our research programs."
