The children of the Dubbo electorate have unleashed their creativity in the annual Christmas card design competition.
Each year Nationals Member for Dubbo, Dugald Saunders, calls for primary-school children across the electorate to help design his Christmas card, and this year Zeon Burger from St Mary's in Dubbo took out first place.
Zeon, who's 12, was awarded the top prize with his drawing of the Taj Mahal with greetings from Dubbo and a few Aussie icons also taking in the sights.
In a hotly contested competition, 10-year-old Beau Boland from Geurie Public School finished second with his Central Australia destination drawing, while 10-year-old Brianna Perera from St Laurence's Primary School claimed third prize with her beach-inspired artwork.
"Zeon's design - an iconic landmark, captured a dream to travel overseas and visit the Taj Mahal, and even included very clever branding of Dub Air on the side of the plane," Mr Saunders said.
"Christmas can look very different from family to family, but it was wonderful to get an insight into how children right across the electorate would love to spend the holiday.
"A huge thank you to all the students who put so much into their designs this year - and the teachers and parents for their support!"
This year saw more than 450 entries as children across the Dubbo electorate showed off their talent and creative flair.
Zeon's Christmas card design will start arriving in mailboxes across the Dubbo electorate this week!
