Drink Driver Caught After Crash At Castle Forbes Bay

A 39-year-old man has been charged with drink driving offences following a crash at Castle Forbes Bay on Friday afternoon.

Inspector Colin Riley sad police were called to the scene on Meredith Street about 3pm, following reports a car had crashed into a ditch.

"The driver returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.303 - more than six times the legal limit," he said.

"He was arrested and charged and will appear in court at a later date."

"Given the extremely high reading it is incredibly lucky no one was injured in this incident, and there were no other people or vehicles involved."

"Drink driving carries with it severe risks, putting lives in danger."

"We are grateful for the assistance of the community member who reported this matter, which allowed us to respond quickly."
