An Echuca woman has lost her licence for 12 months after allegedly driving at almost five times the legal alcohol limit last night (21 January), Victoria Police say.
Police observed a vehicle allegedly speeding near the intersection of Echuca-Nanneella and Power Road, Nanneella shortly before 7.30pm.
The vehicle was seen braking heavily on Craig Road before accelerating onto Power Road and stopping a short distance from the intersection.
Police approached the vehicle, with the 38-year-old driver returning a positive preliminary breath test.
She was taken back to the station for an evidentiary breath test, recording an alleged reading of .278 per cent.
Her licence was immediately suspended and her vehicle impounded.
The woman is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving.
