Drive In Movies Return To Western Downs This Winter

Western Downs Regional Council

Drive In Movie Night

Western Downs Regional Council's ever-popular family-friendly outdoor movies are returning this winter, with free community drive-ins coming to Chinchilla, Dalby, Miles, and Tara next month.

Be taken on an adventure with a shy teenager who learns that she comes from a fabled royal family of legendary sea krakens and that her destiny lies in the depths of the waters, in the recent release 'Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken', at the regional drive-in movies this July.

Councillor Peter Saxelby, Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development said the outdoor movies would once again offer a wonderful opportunity for locals to come together for a relaxed, family-friendly, and fun community event.

"Council is committed to ensuring that our region is alive with activities that connect our active, vibrant communities, even during the winter months," Cr Saxelby said.

"We are proud to deliver this event for its fourth consecutive year and provide residents with an opportunity to leave their house, enjoy the novelty of an outdoor movie screening, all while keeping warm in the comfort of their own cars.

"In the Western Downs 'it's the people that make it', and year after year we see crowds of people roll into this event with their friends and family, stocked up on goodies to watch the movie as a community, and I encourage everyone to make the most of this wonderful event which will be coming to a town near you soon."

Food and beverages will not be available for purchase, so residents are encouraged to bring their own food and drink. This event is an unlicensed event.
