A driver has been charged and will face Court after a female cyclist died following a crash in Sydney's south on Tuesday.
About 8am on Tuesday 14 January 2025, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Waterfall, following reports a cyclist had been struck by a car.
NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived to treat the 79-year-old female rider, however, she died at the scene.
The female driver, aged 23, was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following an investigation under Strike Force Goring, detectives from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command arrested the female driver just before midday today (Friday 17 January 2025) at Sutherland police station.
The woman was charged with two offences - dangerous driving occasioning death - drive in a manner dangerous and negligent driving occasioning death.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 13 February 2025.
