The driver of a vehicle where a male passenger died in a single-vehicle crash in Sydney's southwest has been charged.
About 8.30pm last night (Thursday 16 January 2025), emergency services were called to Hoxton Park Road at Hoxton Park, following reports of crash.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and found a black Subaru sedan had left the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver of the car, a man aged 19, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, and conveyed to Hospital.
Police rendered aid to the front passenger, a male aged 16, however he died at the scene.
A second passenger in the vehicle, a male aged 16, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.
Following an investigation by officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, police charged the 19-year-old male driver with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive speed dangerous.
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 18 January 2025.
