Driver Charged After Hitting NSW Police Motorcyclist

Police have charged a driver after allegedly hitting a NSW Police motorcyclist while conducting a vehicle stop at Narellan this morning.

Emergency services were called to The Northern Road shortly before 5.30am (Tuesday 4 February 2025), after the officer was struck by a Kia Carnival while he was standing beside his motorcycle performing a vehicle stop.

The officer – believed to be aged in his 40s and attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a suspected hip injury before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit charged the 41-year-old driver with;

- Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous

- Negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm

- Cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle

- Driver use mobile phone when not permitted

The man was granted bail to appear in Picton Local Court on Thursday 27 February 2025.
