A man has been charged after a teenage cyclist was injured in an alleged fail-to-stop crash in Bass Hill overnight.
About 10.30pm yesterday (Sunday 2 March 2025), police were patrolling the Hume Highway, Bass Hill, when they found a 14-year-old boy injured on the roadway.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command believe the e-bike he was riding may have been hit.
The rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious leg and pelvic injuries before being taken to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition.
Police established a crime scene and officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit took over inquiries.
Following inquiries, a 60-year-old man was arrested at Bankstown Police Station and was charged with fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.
He has been granted conditional bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 16 April 2025.
