A man has had his licence suspended after allegedly being detected travelling at more than 200km/h in the Riverina earlier this week.
About 2.10pm on Tuesday 22 December 2020, officers attached to the Murray River Highway Patrol Command were responding to an unrelated incident on South Coree Road, Jerilderie, when they saw a vehicle travelling in excess of the signposted 100 km/h speed limit.
Officer's checked the vehicle's speed by way of radar and the vehicle was allegedly detected travelling at a speed of 210 km/h – 110km/h above the posted speed limit.
The vehicle was stopped shortly after and police spoke with the driver, a 43-year-old man from Jerilderie.
During a search, a small amount of cannabis was allegedly located in his possession.
He was issued an infringement notice for exceed speed over 45km/h and his licence was suspended for six months.
The man was also issued a cannabis caution.
