Driver Dies After Crash Near Griffith

A person has died following a truck and car crash in the state's south.

About 6.15am today ( Friday 4 April 2025), a sedan was travelling north along the Kidman Way, Wilbriggie - about 26km south of Griffith - when it collided with a truck carrying two trailers travelling south, about 100 metres south of the intersection of Marston Road.

The car caught alight; however Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters extinguished the fire a short time later. The driver of the car died at the scene.

They are yet to be formally identified.

The 59-year old male driver of the truck was taken to Griffith Base Hospital with minor injuries. The driver will undergo mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
