Driver dies in single-vehicle crash near Griffith

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash near Griffith earlier today.

Just after 11am (Monday 8 January 2021), a Holden Commodore was travelling on Cox Road, Hanwood, when it left the road and hit a power pole, before sliding down an embankment.

The driver and sole-occupant, a 49-year-old woman, was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

An operation to salvage the vehicle is currently underway.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
