Driver Dies In Single Vehicle Crash - Wetherill Park

A woman has died following a crash in Sydney's southwest overnight.

About 11.15pm yesterday (Thursday 30 May 2024), emergency services were called to the intersection of Horsley Drive and Mimosa Road, Wetherill Park, following reports a car had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver and four occupants of the vehicle at the scene for various injuries; however the driver of the vehicle – an 18-year-old woman – died at the scene.

The injured passengers – two males aged 16 and 17 and two females aged 17 and 19 - were taken to Liverpool and Westmead hospitals for further treatment. Their injuries are not considered life threatening.

A crime scene was established as officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
