A man will face court on drink driving charges after he was with detected this morning with a blood alcohol reading of nearly five times over the legal limit, according to SA Police.
Just before 3am, police patrols were alerted to a blue BMW that allegedly hit a parked car in Currie Street in the city.
The BMW was last seen heading east out of the city. A short time later an Eastern Adelaide patrol stopped the same BMW on Magill Road at Maylands.
When police spoke to the male driver he was unsteady on his feet and slurring his words.
The 28-year-old man was breath tested allegedly returning a blood alcohol of 0.245 or nearly five times over the legal limit of 0.05.
The St Morris man was reported for driving under the influence of alcohol, drink driving, fail to exchange particulars plus driving without due care.
The man's licence was disqualified for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days .
He will also be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
