Driver reported after Mannum fatal crash

A driver has been reported following an investigation into a fatal crash at Mannum last month.

Just after 7pm Sunday 27 August emergency services were called to King George Street, Mannum after a car collided with a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 28-year-old local man, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, the young man died of his injuries the following day, Monday 28 August.

The driver of the car, a 72-year-old local man, was not physically injured but taken to Mannum hospital as a precaution.

Major Crash Officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The driver of the car has been reported for aggravated driving without due care. He will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
