Driver runs rampage through southern suburbs, South Australia

Police have arrested a man after he allegedly stole two vehicles and caused chaos through the southern suburbs today.

About 11.45am on Friday 24 April, Southern District police were called to a four car crash at the intersection of Belair Road and Cross Road at Kingswood.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash pulled out the driver of a gold Commodore sedan and stole the car which was last seen heading north on Unley Road.

The Commodore sedan was involved in numerous traffic incidents before crashing into a tree at Warradale.

Police will allege the man then approached a woman in a silver Toyota Rav4 at a hotel on Diagonal Road at Warradale. The man stole the car which was last seen heading northwest.

The Rav4 travelled through the back streets of Morphettville and onto Bray Street where the car was successfully spiked. The car came to a stop near the intersection of Ray Street at South Plympton.

A short foot pursuit took place before police arrested a 42-year-old man on Lynton Avenue.

The suspect has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is being treated for minor injuries.

He is expected to be charged with two aggravated robberies, engaging in a police pursuit and other serious driving offences.
