Driving business recovery and growth in Tasmania

Jane Howlett,Minister for Small Business

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is pleased to release the Interim Business Growth Strategy, which is the result of a review into the Business Growth Strategy 2019-23 to ensure it reflects the post-COVID operating environment.

Developed with the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tasmanian Small Business Council, the Interim Strategy guides businesses on their readiness, response and recovery from COVID-19.

The review has identified new initiatives and priorities, including the addition of a new action area - providing assistance in relation to disaster/major disruptive event planning, and continuity and recovery planning.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government will continue to work with the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tasmanian Small Business Council, industry-specific peak bodies and other business leaders to ensure they have confidence in our support despite the uncertainty of the future.

The past 18 months have demonstrated how resilient our business sector is, ensuring our economy can continue to grow and giving Tasmanian small businesses the highest long-term survival rate in the country.

We stand with Tasmanian businesses as they begin to move from a position of surviving in a COVID-19 environment to one where they thrive.
