Rosebud police have charged a woman and a man following an alleged hit-run collision in a stolen vehicle in Dromana early last night.
It is alleged that a stolen green Toyota Rav 4 was involved in a collision with a second vehicle on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway about 5.30pm.
No one was injured.
Investigators allege that the driver of the Toyota failed to pull over and exchange details, continuing to drive on at a fast rate of speed.
It is alleged that the Toyota left the road near the intersection of Seacombe Avenue and Palm Grove, before crashing into trees alongside the Mornington Peninsula Freeway.
Swift responding Rosebud officers arrested a woman at the scene, alleged to be the driver.
Thankfully, once again no one was injured.
A man presented to police later in the evening and was also arrested.
Police allege that the Toyota was stolen from a Dromana address last week.
A 20-year-old Mordialloc woman was charged with:
• theft of motor vehicle
• reckless conduct endangering life
• drive manner dangerous
• careless driving
• unlicensed driving
• fail to stop vehicle following a collision
• and various drug and theft offences
A 20-year-old man from Long Gully was charged with:
• theft of motor vehicle
• possess a drug of dependence
• possess prohibited weapon
They were both bailed to appear before Dromana Magistrates' Court on 20 February.
