Mornington Peninsula Shire is pleased to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a Victorian Government Building Blocks Capacity Grant to expand Dromana Preschool.
This community-run, sessional kindergarten is much loved by local families. The modular expansion will ensure that more children have access to a high-quality kindergarten program before they start school.
The build is on track to be completed by Term 1, 2025. Once the State Government has completed the works, the building will be handed back to the Shire, and we will maintain it to a high standard for our junior residents to thrive for years to come!
In other good news, the following local kindergartens secured Building Blocks grants to upgrade their playgrounds:
- Beleura Hill Preschool (completed)
- Flinders Preschool (completed)
- Leslie Moorhead Preschool
- Mount Martha Preschool
- Tillerkite Preschool
- Rye Preschool (completed).
We are pleased to have secured funding for a modular expansion at Dromana Preschool to allow more children to attend free kindergarten, however more investment is needed to deliver the Best Start Best Life Kindergarten Reform. We're hoping to share more positive outcomes about funding for Peninsula kindergartens in the years to come.
