Police have arrested and charged several people following the closure of a joint operation targeting drugs and firearms.
Operation Ashhurst-Bideford is a joint ongoing operation between the Queensland Police Service Drug and Serious Crime Group and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
Three men were arrested by police last night as a result of search warrants executed in South Brisbane.
Police located and seized 6.6 kilograms of MDMA (estimated value of $1.3 million), $31,450 in cash and one handgun with a silencer attached.
A 24-year-old Holland Park man was charged with 13 offences including trafficking and supplying dangerous drug, supplying and unlawfully possessing a Category H weapon (handgun) and possession of ammunition and proceeds of crime.
A 22-year-old Tanah Merah man was charged with 14 offences including trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs, unlawfully supplying Category H weapon, possessing proceeds of crime and possession of explosives.
A 26-year-old Mt Gravatt man was charged with seven offences including trafficking dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of proceeds of crime.
Three men are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
