Drug & Firearm Squad detectives seized drugs, cash and a stolen firearm as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the Perth metropolitan area.
On the evening of Thursday 14 May 2020, detectives executed a search warrant at a commercial business premises in Chisholm Crescent, Kewdale. Police arrested three men at the scene where it will be alleged that drugs, cash and weapons were located.
Around 9.50pm, a woman driving a vehicle in Hazelmere was stopped by police. A subsequent search of her vehicle was conducted where it will be alleged that drugs and cash were located.
The items seized, included:
• More than 350 grams of methylamphetamine.
• $198,000 cash
• Various ammunition
• Taser
• .357 Magnum long barrel revolver
• Cocaine, cannabis and drug paraphernalia
• Large cash counting machine
• 20 mobile phones
Detectives have charged a 58-year-old man from Kewdale, a 35-year-old woman from Middle Swan, a 45-year-old man from Rivervale and a 42-year-old man from Thornlie with a range of drug, property and weapon offences.
The firearm seized during the search warrant has been identified as one of the firearms stolen from the burglary at Claremont Firearms on Thursday 21 November 2019. Further investigation will be conducted in partnership with Taskforce Prosper into how the firearm came to be in the possession of the accused.
Proceeds of Crime Squad detectives assisted with the investigation, seizing property items including a number of vehicles owned by the 58-year-old man from Kewdale. These assets will remain frozen, pending the outcome of the criminal charges.
