Drugs, firearms and cash seized after Taskforce Echo warrants

Police have arrested two people and seized drugs, firearms and cash this morning following the execution of several search warrants.

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce executed seven warrants at approximately 6am this morning.

Suburbs included Brunswick, Heidelberg West, Tolmie, Preston, Oakleigh and Melbourne West.

Six firearms were seized by police during the warrants, as well as a range of drugs including what is believed to be cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis and over 80 poppy plants.

A 33-year-old Brunswick man was arrested and is expected to be charged with drug related offences and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

A 63-year-old Tolmie man was arrested and is expected to be charged with drug and firearm related offences.
