Two northern suburbs men have been charged with drug offences after police stopped a vehicle in the Riverland yesterday afternoon.
About 5pm on Wednesday 18 March, Murray Mallee police and CIB detectives searched a vehicle at Waikerie and allegedly located 4.5 kilograms of dried cannabis and about 14 grams of MDMA.
A 53-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both from Davoren Park, were arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
Northern District Police and Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives then searched two premises in Davoren Park and allegedly found prescribed equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis at one address, and 10 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically, about 1.5 kilograms of dried cannabis and prescribed equipment at the second location.
The men were bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on 11 May.
